Cluster of coronavirus cases found at North Carolina casino
This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 27%. (I'm a bot)
CHEROKEE, N.C. - Health officials in North Carolina are investigating a cluster of coronavirus cases after five casino employees tested positive for the virus within two weeks. The cases were identified among Harrah's Cherokee Casino employees who work in the table games section, the Jackson County Department of Public Health said in a news release Monday. "Based on information provided by the employees and video surveillance records, no other employees or customers have been identified as close contacts as defined by the CDC," said Brooks Robinson, the casino's regional manager. The casino had closed in March after an executive order was issued by Gov. Roy Cooper aimed at slowing the spread of the virus. They said in May that daily "Health checks" would also be conducted on casino employees. Jackson County, where the casino is located, has nearly 280 confirmed coronavirus cases and three deaths due to the virus.

Is there a directory for physical table roulette casinos?
I am almost stuck halfway between Cherokee in North Carolina, and Hard Rock Seminole in Tampa. I was disappointed to find out from the dealer at my table today that Hard Rock doesn't have roulette tables... only e-roulette. I'd rather not play e-roulette because I don't trust computer programs being truly random. Is there like a list or directory of casinos in the US that have actual roulette tables on them? I've been to 2 casinos in Atlantic City that had them (can't remember the names). I know Harrah's in New Orleans has a few actual tables. Asking so I can plan a weekend in advanced on where to fly to. Roulette is the only game in a casino I actually enjoy playing. Card games are way too unpredictable for me, where I feel like I have more control in roulette despite me being at the mercy of the ball. Also: Been on carnival cruise and spent the entire 3 nights in the casino at the roulette table never got off the boat lol.
The closest casino to me is the Harrah cherokee in North Carolina. It's a nice casino, but always packed. No free drinks and they generally have the worst configuration for each table. Blackjack pays 6 to 5 instead of 3 to 2, craps odds are 3x 4x 5x, and so on. Those are annoying practices, but they aren't shadey. What does concern me, however, is that the casinos aren't subject to US law. I have read some articles about people winning big jackpots at slot machines only for the casino to tell them they won't get paid because the machine malfunctioned. I have also heard they tribal court basically sides with the casino in every meaningful case. They also have surprise fees. My in laws go to cherokee sometimes and seem to hit small jackpots in slots all the time. They found out that the casino charges them a 30% tribal tax on their winnings. Thats a lot, and there is basically nothing you can do about it. Does anyone gamble at tribal casinos regularly? What have your experiences been? Do you trust them, even though they answer to no one?
Complete 2015 WSOP National Championship schedule announced
The World Series of Poker is going to bring together the best players in the world in Las Vegas in 2015, just as it does every single year. While this is the highlight of the year for poker players, the National Championship are just as exciting for players from United States and the event is scheduled to start on July 23. For exactly 10 days, players will spend some quality time in the Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort in North Carolina, while pitting their skills against each other. Many of those who usually play only over the Internet participate in this tournament, with the last editions being dominated by Sky Poker. With online gambling being illegal in most American states, including North Carolina, it is only fair to say that this event is highly anticipated by all the fans of this beautiful game. The National Championship is the final installment of the WSOP Circuit and will be broadcasted by ESPN, with a total of two hours of coverage. Players will be competing nationwide, with a total of 14 stops and the winner will collect the coveted WSOP gold bracelet as well as a slice of the guaranteed prize pool. It currently stands at $1 million, but it is usually exceeded, as the interest for this competition is tremendous. One year ago, Dominik Nitsche emerged victorious and won $350,000 in addition to the priceless bracelet and he's expected to return to defend his trophy.
